Let’s talk self-care vs resources…
When the pandemic started we all lost our ability to do “self-care.” You know those little things like going on vacation, hanging with friends at the latest restaurant, and so on.
Yeah, we lost those right quick and, if you were like me and my clients, quickly realize THAT wasn’t self-care. We couldn’t do them and if we did… it didn’t cut through the stress and fear of our daily lives.

What is your favorite self-care or resource?
Flash forward to this post pandemic (??) world, where self-care has been repackaged and sold back to us because ✨yay✨ capitalism!
Now, when I think of taking care and giving back to self, I visualize resources—what do I need in order to stay present, calm, and safe within myself?
Think:
🌟 what does my body need to fuel itself? (Food)
🌟 have I seen the sun?
🌟did I have (enough) water to hydrate myself?
🌟 am I rested? Have I gotten enough rest?
🌟am I connected to community?
🌟 have I moved my body in a way that feels good (and comes from a place of health, NOT diet culture)?
🌟 have I done something spiritually?
Remember, the above are questions to ask of yourself to get you started.
Self-care is nice—the idea grown from a place of activism—but remember the wellness community hijacked it and is always trying to sell it back to you. You never need to buy or get anything to take care of yourself, it’s within you.
